Eucalyptus oil may be your go-to remedy when you’ve got a stuffy nose, but it can also work wonders for your teeth, gums, and mouth! It’s a natural way to prevent diseases and improve your overall oral care.
What Is Eucalyptus Oil?
Eucalyptus is a native of Australia, however, eucalyptus trees are harvested throughout the world today. There are actually more than 400 various types of eucalyptus species, but the Blue Gum (Eucalyptus globulus) is most commonly used for oils.
Eucalyptus trees produce oval-shaped leaves which are used to create oil. The leaves are dried, crushed into tiny bits, and distilled in order to extract their oil. The natural oil must be heavily diluted in order to be used for medical purposes.
What Makes Eucalyptus so Healthy?
Eucalyptus oil has been a go-to product for those looking to heal wounds and improve medical ailments naturally. In the 19th century, English hospitals commonly fought off urinary infections through healthy doses of eucalyptus treatments.
